Abstract

This paper presents a comparison between two depended sources of forest surveillance for deforested area detection. This paper provides an in depth understanding about pros and cons of image captured using Landsat and UAVs. These two are the widely- depen-ded sources for capturing aerial images of forests. Monitoring forest disturbances is critical for addressing its impact on carbon storage and fluxes, biodiversity, and other socio-ecological processes .We also discuss two techniques used for non-forested area detection, on images acquired using Landsat and UAVs. A detailed description about the working of these detection techniques is included.
